  3. Much of the initial flight testing for
  4. the Me 163 was done at Bad Zwischenahn.
  5. This airfield would have been an ideal 
  6. launching point for the Komet to 
  7. intercept incoming Allied bombing raids.
  8. However, after the Allied invasion of 
  9. Normandy, the risk of ground attack from 
  10. American fighter-bombers eventually 
  11. forced the Luftwaffe to curtail their 
  12. operation of advanced aircraft in this 
  13. area.

  17. Ground control reports several small
  18. formations of inbound enemy aircraft at
  19. low altitude.  Most likely Allied P-47s, 
  20. these fighters are either on a fighter 
  21. sweep ahead of a bombing raid, or they're 
  22. on an attack mission for the specific 
  23. purpose of destroying German aircraft on 
  24. the ground.  Either way, your orders are 
  25. to get airborne fast, avoid their fire, 
  26. and try to turn the tables on the attack-
  27. ing aircraft.  There are other Luftwaffe 
  28. aircraft operating in this area, so 
  29. choose your aerial targets carefully.
